Pius XI Track & Field camp is open to all boys and girls going into 6, 7,  8 or 9 grades. The camp will be held inside the Pius XI  Field House.

 The camp will focus on :

• The basics of running form and technique
• Proper warm-ups
• Training and Skills for runners, jumpers and throwers alike
• Boys and girls who attend will receive introductions to all of the events contested in grade school track, and some high school events.

On that Friday there will be a track meet held in the field house with awards.

Open to current (April 2008)  5th, 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade boys and girls. The camp will be run from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, July16 thru Friday, July 20, 2007.

Camp fee = $85   (includes T-shirt)

Todd Hartwig will run the 2005 Boys and Girls Track & Field Camp. He is a Level 1 certified USA Track & Field coach. Coach Hartwig has been one of Pius XI’s Track & Field coaches for the last 11 years, and head coach the last 5 seasons. He is also co-head coach for Cross Country. During the years Coach Hartwig has been affiliated with the Track & Field team there have been 2 team state championships, dozens of individual conference champions and state qualifiers, and currently has 3 athletes competing in NCAA D1 programs.

In addition to Coach Hartwig, several assistant coaches and current and former athletes will be on staff to share their expertise in Track & Field.
